Willie Walsh is a Registered Safety Practitioner and holds a Masters Degree in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit School of Business.
He set up Apollo West in 2005 having previously managed risk management consultancy teams at Nifast, Liberty Risk, and Coyle Hamilton Willis. He acted as team lead on TCDs Aerospace Psychology Research Group developing the first Europe wide airport ramp safety multi media training programme.
Risk management business partnerships have included Independent Newspapers, MCC Print, Flogas, Portwest and Abbott, GSK.

Experience of projects in Ireland and across Europe informs his approach to training engagements. He was part of the team that put together the first DCU certificate and diploma programs in occupational health and safety and presented on nationwide seminar programs detailing the implications of new safety legislation. He has also trained on the LQSP behaviour based safety program.
